Leaving for the Scandinavian Rally 2014

Tomorrow morning I will leave for Sweden to participate in the Scandinavian Rally.image It is the first time for me to do a rally in Sweden and it’s the first time in 21 years to visit Sweden. I haven’t been there since I went to the Nordkapp. I will take a comfy ferry tomorrow evening from Kiel to Göteborg and will arrive in Örebro on Friday. The 24 hour rally will start on Saturday morning and I am looking forward to ride through the beautiful Swedish countryside! 1. Best season in the year for going to Sweden. That’s why I am planning my first SS1000 for the next weekend through Denmark and Sweden – Runt Vättern.

Would have liked to drop by the ferry with two cans of beer in the afternoon, but the day is packed, afraid I can’t make it. Take care and watch out for megafauna crossing the roads.

  2. Yay! First time in 21 years…? Nicht schlecht.
Let me supply you with some updates on the Swedish roads and traffic situation.

    # We have since changed to right hand traffic, just as the rest of the civilized world.
    # Roads have been paved. …or, …some roads and stretches have been paved with tarmac, but in such sloppy fashion that one preferred that they had let the roads remain gravel roads.
    # Speed cameras has been mounted, ordinary police patrols has been dismounted. Dismembered…? Well, seized to be, anyway.
    # Roads has been straightend out. Actually to the extent that drivers have problems staying awake.

…and hundred other things that you are to experience!
Happy to see you here, and a warm welcome to Sweden.

    Hampe
